Two days done!
Well, after my second day on the VLCD, I am down another 2.6 pounds!! That is a total of 6.6 pounds in two days!! I'll take it!! It's exciting to be able to change my ticker everyday and watch the numbers move down!! I love this protocol!!!
I have been getting headaches the past couple days, which is normal due to the change in diet, but I am not feeling hungry at all, so the diet has been easy for me to stick to. I also have to cook for my hubby and kids, so that is a bit of a temptation, but I am determined not to take even the littlest bite!!
Also, I have really long hair, so the no conditioner is quite the challenge, but I just keep it back during the injections, and it seems to do fine.... just extremely hard to get a brush through after I wash it, but hey, its worth it if you ask me!!!

Lori,
I have long hair but not as long as yours and I am trying the "No-Poo" no shampoo method. Check out my blog - it has the details. This may help with your no conditioner issue.
Thanks, Toni....
I very much enjoy your blog...I did check out what you said about the baking soda...I'm not sure if I am going to try that or not... my hair is soooo long and I think it would take forever and a day to get it all out of my hair, then even longer to get a brush through it. Right now I use Pantene shampoo, and it seems to be working great, I just skip out on the conditioner for now. Its funny when I am done with injections and start using conditioner again, and am able to do it all pretty and stuff people always say "wow, you have such beautiful hair"....cause it goes into "hiding" while I'm on injections. lol.
Lori,
When I went through my first round of this protocol, I knew I wouldn't be able to go without conditioner on my thick hair.
I did my best to not let the conditioner get into my scalp or on my skin, which meant that I wore the thin latex gloves when shampooing and conditioning, and then bent over the side of the tub to wash my hair rather than doing it in the shower where it would contact my whole body. Also, I didn't massage the conditioner into my scalp, either - just used enough of it to detangle and then rinsed it right off. Finally, I only shampooed when it was absolutely necessary - with my dry, thick hair, I was able to only do it every 3 or 4 days. And since I knew that this was a temporary measure, for only 4 or 5 weeks, I was able to function knowing that it wouldn't have to last forever.
These tips may not be for you, but I have to tell you that they worked for me, and I never stalled on the days that I washed my hair.
With that said, on the first day of Phase 3 when I could use regular products again, I took a nice long oily bath and gave my hair and scalp a nice long scrubbing!
Susan,
My mom also used conditioner on the protocol and it worked for her just fine....she just did it with her head upside down, and didn't let it touch her scalp....so I think I may give that a try!! Thanks for the advice!!
